Body of man found stuffed in toolbox along Polk County road identified as father of 5 – WSB-TV Channel 2
POLK COUNTY, Ga. – Police are looking for someone who killed a man and stuffed his body in a toolbox.
A passerby found the toolbox along Esom Hill Road in rural Polk County.
Channel 2 News Action learned on Friday that the victim, Lachancey Williams, was a father of five.
Investigators are currently working with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation to find out who killed him.
“Honestly, just the stuff you see in the movies,” is how Rudy Martinez Jr. describe the situation.
He works at Rudy’s in downtown Cedartown, where the murder mystery has become the talk of the town.
“It’s a small town, and nothing happens here,” Martinez said.

Williams’ obituary was published on Friday, where we learn he’s already a father of five.
On Tuesday, Polk County investigators said public employees first thought there was a dummy in the toolbox. The body is wrapped in oilcloth.
“It was shocking. Honestly, it’s a little bit scary,” Martinez said.
Records show Williams has a criminal record. Police arrested him in October for drugs.

Williams’ past is being investigated to see if it was related to his death. A family member said to Channel 2 News Action that his children are devastated.
“I see that in the movies. You never think something like that would happen here in your town,” Martinez said.
Williams’ funeral is set for Saturday in Cedartown.
