North America/Europe
The whole design for North America and Europe is pretty straightforward. It has the main male image front and center, and actually looks quite cheerful as well. We like the simplicity here, and the logo at the top really stands out – it’s certainly not possible to mistake this game for any other.
Japan
The Japanese design for Super Mario USA is a bit busier in its composition, with Mario ready to hurl seeds at the multitude of enemies that await. We also have Luigi, Princess Peach, and Toad in the background, so it’s really a fun little gathering of all our favorite Mario characters. We also have to admit that we were really drawn to the pink color that surrounds the artwork. It’s beautiful!
