An 11-year-old boy had to have a five-centimetre stick removed from his scrotum after he fell from a tree and was impaled.

The tween from Makassar, Indonesia, was in “severe pain” when he arrived at a hospital four hours after the horrifying accident.

The boy was given heavy antibiotics as medical staff gently extracted the stick from his nether regions.

Doctors described the incident in the journal of Urology Case Reports, stating that the injury is “rare,” and only occurs in about 10 per cent of abdominal trauma cases, and scrotal and/or testicular injury occurs in about one per cent of incidents.

That sound you heard was men everywhere heaving a huge sigh of relief.

He pierced his genitalia — more specifically, his left hemiscrotum and the tip at the upper level of his left pubic bone — and missed his right testicles and hemiscrotum by millimetres, according to the report.

The boy was given tetanus to prevent infection. It took about a month but he has fully recovered.

A similar incident happened earlier this year to an American pole vaulter.

We apologize, but this video has failed to load.

Zach McWhorter, 21, took to TikTok to show footage of himself landing on his pole, scrotum first.

He said it missed his testicles by millimetres, but he still required 18 stitches.

“I could see right into my scrotum,” he told Buzzfeed. “Fortunately, as far as I know, there is nothing wrong with my testicles — just a scar. One day, we’ll find out if they function or not.”
