As the NFL community awaits Tom Brady’s decision on the next step in his career, one can’t help but notice the change of guard we’ve seen in the 2022 season. first As of 2009, the post-season split does not include Brady or Aaron Rodgers on the field. More than a decade of deep playoffs finished at least for the time being.

Since 2010, the veteran duo have combined to play in 14 games for the Games Championship, with Brady participating in eight consecutive AFC title matches in New England. Brady or Rodgers have participated in seven of the last 12 Super Bowl games, with Tom shouldering most of that burden. No matter how you cut it, these quarterbacks have owned for the past decade.

Whether it’s wins, stats or individual titles, the story of 10 years in the NFL couldn’t be told without Brady and Rodgers. Plenty of MVP, All-Pros and Pro Bowl selections between them, but the only one we never got was a Super Bowl Sunday game. And it will most likely never happen.

Taking over the new generation

This season, we officially saw the torch pass over the top of Mount QB. Going into the season, Rodgers was the league’s consecutive reigning MVP and played in the NFC championship game against Brady two years ago. Brady went on to win his seventh Super Bowl ring after beating Rodgers and the Packers later that season.

The writing is on the wall in big bold red letters for Brady, and Rodgers. A new breed of younger, more athletic QBs has snatched the mantle away from the old guard, led by Patrick Mahomes. Josh Allen, Joe Burrow, Lamar Jackson, and now Jalen Hurts are also part of the next generation of elite QBs. This is Hurts’ first MVP caliber campaign, but if he continues to improve as a top laner, he’ll be on the MVP conversation for years.

In games against Mahomes, Jackson and Burrow, this year Brady has been leading 0-3. Rodgers lost 0-2 to the new kids on the block, losing to Allen and Hurts. Brady and Rodgers are no longer the dominant force in the tournament that other congressmen are chasing. No man has thrown more than 26 touchdowns, and Rodgers failure crossed 4,000 yards playing a full season for the first time since 2015. So it’s safe to say the Brady/Rodgers era is over. The two played all 17 games and their teams finished with the same 8-9 record. Tampa Bay was lucky to play in the worst division in football, winning the NFC South with a losing record.

What’s next?

Unless one or both picks up and leaves, their time in the winner’s circle may be over. There is speculation that Brady could be move up his third team, with many suitors reported to be combining for his services. With Rodgers, you never know what will happen in the recent season, but he will probably return to Green Bay for another year to complain about what he doesn’t have and his wide receiver. can’t understand how. It seems like the most we can expect from these two right now is drama.
