Brilliant Inspiral features Cheveley Park on cloud nine | Racing news

The Cheveley Park Stud team is still basking in the glory of Inspiral’s “sensational” return in the Crowning Stakes at Royal Ascot.

Last season’s stellar minor has won her four starts, hopes of a Classic win gone after Frankel’s daughter didn’t make it in time to run in the tournament. Guineas 1000 or the respective races in France and Ireland.

But her patience in relationships paid off in some way on Friday when Inspiral justified her eight-month absence with a dominant victory.

Cheveley Park chief executive Chris Richardson said on Monday: “It’s sensational, isn’t it? It’s a joy for everyone to watch and enjoy the talent she has.

“It’s been a huge boost to the Thompson family (owners) and they’re enjoying it, it’s been amazing to see such a great winter with top athletes. at Cheltenham.

“We are so lucky to have someone very special.”

While missing out on the Guineas is certainly a disappointment, Richardson has no doubt it’s the right decision given Inspiral’s long-term future.

He added: “I think it’s easy to get ahead in those races when you don’t get to 100% and then you regret it because something went wrong and you have to miss the rest of the year.

“Mrs. Thompson is adamant that Coronation Stock is where she wants to be. We’ve had a quick climax in Irish Guineas, but there’s still plenty of work for the scum to tell us when she’s ready. and apparently Frankie (Dettori) and John (Gosden) had a lot of fun with her on the final build for Royal Ascot.”

Inspiral is poised to add Newmarket’s Falmouth Stakes to its collection next month, but there’s no rush to solidify its next attack plan.

Richardson did, however, not rule out the tantalizing possibility the star would join the ponies before the end of the year.

He said: “I think there’s quite a lot to discuss. It’s clear that (Falmouth) is the logical next step, but there are other races to consider and we still haven’t had a conversation. We’re still there. just thinking and enjoying the moment.

“I think she’ll probably stay a mile for the next run, but I’m sure we’ll move forward at some stage. All options are open at the moment.

“That (taking on ponies) is another option to consider, that’s for sure. It’s all about play and we’re very lucky to have a very special cat – I doubt she has one. Probably the best cat we’ve ever had.”

Inspiral is no exception to the high-profile track Starscope, who didn’t manage to win at Group One level but finished second in the 1000 Guineas and Crowning Shares a decade ago.

She’s currently expecting a full Inspiral sibling and already has a few other interesting ponies on the ground.

“Starscope is back with the pony to give to Frankel and has a very nice Ulysses pony and a longing Siyouni pony,” Richardson added.
