A BRITISH woman was gang raped by a group of five to eight men at a hotel on the Greek island of Rhodes.
The woman, 31, said she and friends met the men, from Belgium, at a nightclub in the seaside resort of Faliraki early Sunday morning.
She said the men – aged 30 to 35 – then took her and her friends to their hotel room in Faliraki.
According to local newspaper Dimokratiki, the British woman told Greek police she had consensual sex with one of the men on the hotel balcony and in her room.
She said that at one point, her friends left the room.
The woman testified that the group of men then attacked and gang-raped her.
She told police that she fled the hotel and took a taxi back to where she was staying.
The woman reported the alleged gang rape to police at 7 a.m. local time on Monday.
Police in Rhodes opened an investigation and have since arrested four Belgian suspects, who have not been named.
The British woman identified all four men as her alleged rapists.
Investigators took DNA samples from four men while police continued to search for other suspects.
Greek media reported that the four men “did not accept the charges against them”.
