This weekend Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz were married at a star-studded ceremony (the Williams sisters, the Spice Girls and Gordon Ramsay attended) in Palm Beach. His bride wore a custom Valentino couture gown that took a year and multiple trips to Rome to create. So it’s entirely possible for Beckham to do something equally spectacular.
And he did. While we are used to seeing David and Victoria BeckhamThe eldest of the eldest in a figure skater’s baggy jeans, Peaky Blinders– sleek cap and coach jacket by Carhartt. (He “wears the same thing every day,” he tells GQ UK in 2021.) But for his wedding, Brooklyn Beckham went to Dior, and family friend Kim Jones, for help.
The British designer has been the artistic director of Dior menswear since 2018 and has dressed the Beckham family on countless occasions, so the collaboration was an easy choice. David wears a custom morning suit to Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s Wedding in 2018, while the entire Beckham family took the front row at Jones’ catwalk shows in custom Dior outfits.
Dior is also Beckham’s newlywed designer of choice for formal attire. “For the red carpet, it’s always Dior,” he told us last year. “The clothes the brand wears fit me well. I have these big and broad shoulders that I struggle to find a suitable jacket. Dior has solved this problem. I have one that they gave me and I will wear it when I need it.”
For Beckham’s wedding, Jones and Dior created a custom black woolen long-tail coat, adorned with a silver chain at the front. It comes with fitted straight-cut trousers and a white cotton bird-collared white shirt with piqué plastron and highlight buttons.
As for accessories, Jones outfitted Beckham with a white bow and square bag, while the 23-year-old’s feet wore glossy black leather sneakers. A unique touch comes from the custom label, designed by Peltz and sewn into Brooklyn jackets. Brooklyn isn’t alone in wearing Dior either. David, Romeo and Cruz showed their support for Brooklyn by wearing matching black ensembles, created in Paris by the French label.
With the wedding season in full bloom, it’s safe to say that Brooklyn is only setting the standard for how other celebs should dress for their big days. His unfussy, expertly tailored suit stays true to the tradition of wedding day wear, but unique details give it a unique character. Ben Affleck and Machine Gun Kelly, the pressure is on.
