Buck crashes into Westside Elementary School classroom | News
SPRINGFIELD, TN (WSMV) – A new student surprised everyone at a Robertson County elementary school Tuesday morning, except it wasn’t a person – it was a deer.
The large car sped through the emergency exit at Westside Elementary, locking itself in the classroom overnight. Kaleb Stratton, a game manager with the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Authority, was able to escort the dog back into the wild.
“It’s not what I expected when I walked in,” Stratton said. “Once I found out it was a coin and I saw it in class, I said, ‘this is going to be hard.'”
Stratton said it’s deer mating season right now, so the stag is likely to chase a female as it rushes into the school. It could also have seen it reflected in the glass and thought it was another coin.
“[Deer] running crazy [right now] and it’s not just in Robertson County, but all over the state of Tennessee,” Stratton said.
The tank that broke into the Westside overturned some tables and chairs, but was unharmed. School administrators ensured that all students were safely inside before Stratton lured the deer back outdoors, where it took off back into the wild.
