A big, free content update for Bugsnax, the captivating puzzle adventure game set on an island full of bugs for food, will launch the game on April 28, developer Young Horses announced Tuesday. Summon Bigsnax Islandoriginal add-on Bugsnax will take the player to a new island full of new bug-foods to catch.
Bugsnax and its free update will also arrive on new platforms: Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and Xbox Series X. The game is also coming to Steam soon. (Bugsnax Exclusive to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and Epic Games Store when it comes out in 2020)
New versions of Bugsnax will cost $24.99 at launch, thanks to a 20% discount. Game Pass subscribers will get daily access to Bugsnax on Xbox, Windows PC and Cloud platforms.
Bugsnax: Bigsnax Island will add a new land to the main game. That new habitat will have all-new quests, puzzles, and Bugsnax for you to explore. New to the game will be creatures like the Cellystix, a stick beetle made of celery; Cheddorb, a roll of wine cheese; Bunger Royale, an oversized Bunger with accents for limbs; Tikkada Masala, a naan-winged cicada; Spaghider, an 8-foot block of pasta; and other hilarious combinations of snacks and bugs.
Young Horses says players can expect three to four hours of new game content in Bigsnax Islandwith voice actors Yuri Lowenthal, Casey Mongillo, Debra Wilson and Haviland Stillwell returning to provide new missions and dialogue. BugsnaxThe April update also means additional features to the main game, including a new mail system where islanders will send you challenges. Complete those challenges to earn gifts, which players can use to decorate their personalized hut, a living and storage space. Console players will also have access to quick travel.
Better still, Bugsnax’s Bugsnax Also getting a big upgrade: the ability to wear a hat. These hat-wearing creatures are the shiny Pokémon of the world of Bugsnax, Young Horses said.
