Burger King is bringing the Whopper back to its original price

This Friday and Saturday, Burger King will be selling its signature sandwich for 37 cents in what it calls a “two-day birthday party.” The promotion will be exclusively for chain members Royal Perks . Rewards Program and can only be ordered on its app.

Burger King first started selling the Whopper in 1957. It was created by co-founder Jim McLamore after he noticed that people liked to shred large burgers, so he ordered it. The name Whopper “knew this would convey the image of something big”, according to his autobiography.

Whopper has 1,024 potential top combinations, the chain said. Sandwiches are still an integral part of its menu and it has expanded an option to include plant-based version.
Discounts are one way to attract customers, and restaurants expect them to spend 34 cents more on other items. McDonald’s (MCD) recently sold an Egg McMuffin for its original price of 63 cents. For both trades, only members of the rewards program are eligible for the discount.
Burger King expanded its Royal Perks rewards program nationwide earlier this year. International Restaurant Brand, (QSR) the chain’s parent company, said on an earnings call that it was “satisfied with the initial results” of the sign-up as part of its broader effort to phase out paper coupons and push customers goods to digital orders.

Ultimately, the goal of Burger King and other brands with loyalty programs is to increase sales and engage customers, ideally on a daily basis, by giving them a reason to choose them over. because of competitors.
