BYD delivered 1268 Atto 3 EVs in December

BYD The Australian distributor has announced an impressive 1268 sales of Atto 3 electric vehicle (EV) in December – only the second month the company reported its sales.

While we won’t have a full 2022 electric car sales chart until tomorrow – story pending – it’s almost certain that Atto 3 so it’s the second best-selling electric car in the following December Tesla Model 3 (1806).

The results mean that the Chinese brand has claimed to have shipped the 2113 Atto 3 in November and December – amid a higher-than-average sales of the entire year. Hyundai ioniq 5 and Kona điện electricity.

BYD’s December total of 1268 is also more than the entire lineup of Audi (1262) or Honda (996).

China’s BYD is growing at breakneck speed, expanding its footprint across Europe and into new markets like Japan this year. It is now considered one of Tesla’s main competitors globally.

More rumors of an electric (and likely plug-in hybrid) BYD car coming soon, with a camouflaged test car circling around on many Chinese media sites.

It was also released image of a prototype in disguise of the upcoming off-road vehicle, which will be sold under the new Yangwang sub-brand. The premium SUV will be launched in foreign markets from the first quarter of 2023, with the first model said to carry the R1 nameplate.
