Berlanti has been represented for the past 15 years by WME’s Ari Greenburg and will now work on the same team at the CAA led by Bryan Lourd.

The news comes as Berlanti is in talks with Warner Bros. Discovery to renew the $400 million master deal he signed in 2018. It’s unclear if he’ll do so because his current deal was made years before WarnerMedia. – Detect merger. That deal includes a bonus for the number of series Berlanti can select. This stellar producer, who holds the record for most scripted originals to be broadcast or in the works, saw that series as a resounding success after The CW sold to Nexstar . Berlanti Productions is behind eight web series, but three of them — Lightning, Female Star and Riverdale — will end this season, and new owner Nexstar has signaled its intent to pursue the lower-cost scripted series as it tries to turn The CW into a profit.

A growing concern is Berlanti’s future role with DC Studios, given the studio’s new leadership and executives’ interest in better unifying both the TV and movie universes of the studio. it becomes Marvel. Berlanti, who unleashed the comic book craze on TV with The CW’s Arrowverse, has also seen his DC medium shrink until the final season of the series. Potential new master deal, if Berlanti actually reunites with Warner Bros. . His current deal is due to expire in 2024, but WBD CEO David Zaslav is keen to renew one of the studio’s most important deals. If the CAA completes Berlanti’s new deal, the commission could be as high as $40 million, a huge sum for the agency that acquired ICM Partners this year.

Also interesting is that Berlanti will be replaced by Bryan Lourd at the CAA. Lourd also represents Ryan Murphy, handing him two of the most powerful and effective presenters on TV.
