Cadillac teases new Escalade V Series

Cadillac sent an intro video on Thursday, doing everything to confirm the existence of Escalade V has been rumored for a long time. Even better, this video clip makes it clear that this new top performance model will be powered by an old-fashioned V8 engine.

The unmistakable vertical lighting markings and sheer height compared to other cars are shaded here all but confirming that we are reviewing a Escalade, was sold with GM’s 420 hp, 6.2 liter V8. Why is that the problem? Well, V-series Cadillacs aren’t known for hauling as much power as classic cars, and that means we’ll likely see some power breakdown on the secretive V model. this hidden.

What form will that take? Well, we weren’t quite expecting Black out power levels here – “V” and “Blackwing” now mean very different things – so while it’s possible V will be supercharged, that’s not an exact conclusion. It’s also not entirely out of the question that the V was merely tuned to sound like packing a V8. Either way, Cadillac has a twin-turbo V6 at its disposal, though the costs involved in mating an all-new platform just to deliver mid-range performance make that proposition rather confusing.

And don’t forget that Escort ship exist. The 6.2-liter V8 in that application makes 495 hp – 75 more horses than the Escalade’s standard V8. That seems consistent with the Escalade V, if you ask us. But is it enough to attract buyers? Paired with GM’s latest adaptive suspension technology, the Escalade V will carry its considerable weight. We are curious to see what exactly Caddy available in store. We won’t have to wait long. Look for more information on Friday, January 21.
