Caitlyn Jenner launches W Series racing team



LONDON – Caitlyn Jenner is in the races again, debuting a team in the women’s single-seat motor racing championship.

Jenner, 72, a former Olympic champion and reality TV personality who failed to run for governor of California, has started the Jenner Racing team in the W Series for the 2022 season.

Jenner will oversee her team’s daily run, including the lineup of drivers and sponsors who land to compete in Formula One’s often-running weekend series.

W . series opens in May in Miami.

She said. “A championship dedicated to inspiring young girls and giving women the opportunity to succeed in roles across traditionally male-dominated industries, the W Series is changing the face of sports car racing. ”

Jenner, the 1976 Olympic pentathlon gold medalist who was originally a transgender woman in 2015, debuted as a professional racer at the 24 Hours of Daytona in 1980. on Jim Busby’s team. Jenner went on to compete professionally in the IMSA Camel GT Championship, as a factory driver for Ford Motor Company and Jack Roush, over the next six years, made a total of 57 starts.
