Calgary police seek witnesses after pedestrian hit on Macledod Trail – Calgary

Calgary police are turning to the public for more information after a pedestrian was left in a life-threatening condition on Thursday.

Police said a 20-year-old man was walking on the west sidewalk in the 5500 block of Macleod Trail at about 6:10 p.m.

A pickup truck driven by a man in his 40s was traveling south. A passerby said he tripped down the road in front of the truck and was hit by the side mirror.

The pedestrian was taken to the hospital. The truck driver was uninjured and remained at the scene.

Neither speed nor deceleration was a contributing factor to the collision, according to police.
