Call of Duty: Warzone features a Godzilla vs. King Kong
Call of Duty: Warzone are getting a big New event May 11-25. In Operation Monarchplayers will need to survive the fight against Godzilla and King Kong – yes, this is the connection with Godzilla vs. Kong movie launched over a year ago. For their trouble, players will earn a bunch of monster-themed items, such as new gun blueprints.
The main mode of Operation Monarch will be a variation of the Resurgence game mode and the player will team up with three other friends in a team of four. All 60 players will then be put in a cornered area of the Crater map and need to outlast any other team – the usual way teams win Battlefield.
However, there is a difficulty with Operation Monarch. Two big catches to be exact. Kings of monsters, Godzilla and King Kong, are also on the map. Players can damage them for more information, or even call them in for super damage. They will fight back, but will be mostly docile for most of the match – “mostly” is the active word here.
At certain points in each match (beginning and then another undisclosed time) Godzilla and Kong will unleash their rage on the player. They will start attacking much more aggressively, actively trying to kill everyone around them. Players can run or fight in these situations, but the team that deals the most damage to monsters during the frenzy will earn a special killstreak, allowing them to use Titans to Heat Ray or smash the ground in an area of their choice.
During Operation Monarch, players will get some prizes just for playing with friends, but they’ll need to spend extra money on cosmetic packs if they want all the monster-themed goodies. By completing all eight of the game’s challenges, players will earn the specially designed “Ancient Rivalry” Marksman Rifle.
All bonuses and packages for King Kong, Godzilla and Mechagodzilla will be available until May 25 when the Titans go into hiding and the event disappears.
