Cambodia will stop requiring quarantine for travelers who have been vaccinated against Covid-19 starting November 15, Prime Minister Hun Sen said on Sunday.
The Prime Minister made the announcement on social media after the Southeast Asian country requested a quarantine lasting more than 18 months.
“After seeing people get two doses of the drug and test negative for Covid, they will be allowed to travel around the Kingdom of Cambodia,” he said.
Hun Sen said travelers will have to present a negative test result 72 hours before travel and get two doses of the vaccine. Those who have not been vaccinated will be quarantined for 14 days.
Mr. Hun Sen said that foreigners who have been vaccinated and Cambodians who are under quarantine will be allowed to leave the country from November 15.
“This is a fast way to reopen the country and facilitate travel for our people. I know some of our citizens want to go abroad but are worried about coming back with the requirement to control the country. translate,” he said.
Cambodia has vaccinated nearly 90% of its more than 16 million population, one of the highest vaccination rates in Asia.
