North American NXT Champion Cameron Grimes successfully defended its title on the latest version of NXT 2.0.
Grimes took to the ring last week of development to discuss his recent title win and pay tribute to his father, before he was interrupted by Solo Sikoa. The street champion then challenged Grimes to a match, making him the first challenger for the NXT mainstay title. The match was then confirmed for this week’s NXT 2.0 edition special championship.
During the match, both superstars were able to make some great attacks, and Sikoa was almost able to score the winning goal with a massive Samoan Drop, which ended in a very close drop. After an introductory clash, the match ended when Trick Williams attacked Sikoa, leaving Grimes in cover.
This ending provided a less than stellar ending to Cameron Grimes’ first title defense in WWE, but will certainly lead to future shows for the North American Champion.

When the match ended thanks to the participation of Trick Williams, the former champion Carmelo Hayes make his presence felt on the NXT 2.0.
Hayes bursts into the ring to the commentary team’s embarrassment and wastes Grimes and Solo Sikoa with the help of Trick Williams. After the loss, Hayes held the North American NXT championship aloft, declaring that he intends to reclaim the title in the near future.
Currently, Carmelo Hayes has not been rematched for the championship.
