“Can definitely form a pair like Yuvraj Singh, MS Dhoni”: Sunil Gavaskar On Indian Stars

On Sunday, India beat England with five goals in the third half and decided ODI to win 2-1. Pursuing a goal of 260 runs at Old Trafford in Manchester, India hit 72 points for 4 at one stage of the game. This is when Hardik Pandya and Rishabh Pant ended a partnership that spanned 133 times for the fifth match to help India win the game. While Hardik shines with a record of 71 knock-outs 55 balls, Pant is still not out with an undefeated record – 125 tackles 113.
Former Indian player Sunil Gavaskar feel that both Hardik and Pant can make a pair like Yuvraj Singh and MS Dhoni did for India.
“Yes, Hardik Pandya and Rishabh Pant can definitely make a pair like Yuvraj (Singh) and (MS) Dhoni,” Gavaskar said on Sports Tak.
Sunday’s match also saw Hardik play a major role in Indian bowling. In the first innings, the player returned a metric of 4/24 – his best in ODI cricket, before he scored 50 in the second.

In the match, Rohit Sharma won the pitch and chose to score first. India’s pitchers finished England in 259 runs with Jos Buttler is England’s top scorer, thanks to his 60-game hit. Besides Hardik, Yuzvendra Chahal also shined in the innings with the number 3/60.
In response, India’s top order did not give either side a good start as the trio of Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan and Virat kohli can only add 35 runs. However, Pant and Pandya came to the rescue of India and it all ended up helping the guests pocket the ODI series.
