Can Houndour be shiny in Pokémon Go?

The Houndour family has a nicer blue tint than their usual color, but the Houndoom . is notable have Mega Evolution. If you have a chance to get a bunch of Houndour, you should take advantage and try to find one with a high IV, so you can Mega Evolve it later.

What is the shiny rate for Houndour in Pokémon Go?

Following the Silph Patha Pokémon’s shiny rate on a normal day is approximately one in 500. Houndour is not a Pokémon that receives “permaboost” (meaning it rarely spawns and therefore gets a shiny boost).

What can I do to attract more shiny Pokémon?

Not much, unfortunately. It seems to be random chance. Shiny Pokémon catch rates are set by developer Niantic, and they’re usually only increased during special events like Community Day or the Safari Zone, or during Legendary Raid. There are no consumables that increase the odds of shiny Pokémon.
