“Can we keep this a secret?” – Brett Favre case sees another turning point as Mississippi auditor breaks silence

The Brett Favre welfare story plot continues to thicken. A Mississippi state auditor has presented what appears to be evidence that will harm the case of the former Green Bay Packers legend.

Shad White took to Twitter to share a new series of text messages that appear to imply that Favre knows what he’s doing.

New information regarding Brett Favre’s knowledge of the Mississippi welfare scandal: 🧵 Included in the state’s recent filings in the lawsuit against Favre is a new series of text messages.1/

In the most recent state filing, the documents indicated that Favre wanted to ensure that he and public perception would not be fired because of the situation. Profile writes:

“Favre asked, ‘Will this solve the brick and mortar problem?’… Again, Favre knew that the subsidy fund could not be used for brick and mortar construction, but nonetheless then he also managed to secretly take the money for that purpose.

“He asked, ‘Will the public be aware that I have become a spokesperson for many state-funded shelters, schools, housing, etc.. and have been compensated with state money. Or can we keep this a secret?'”

Back in 2021, Favre denied the claims against him. He took to Twitter to offer a multi-tweet explanation for the situation, involving the same state auditor who is now providing more information.

As I said before, I will never accept money for absences, as the state auditor of Mississippi, @ShadWhite, stated.

Favre also added to that thread:

“I’m doing all I can to support this investigation to get the people of Mississippi right and I’ve shared all I know, which is that I’ve been paid for three years. advertising that I did and I paid taxes on the money, as I should. Of course the money was returned because I would never knowingly take the money to help our neighbors in need hard.”

Although the details of this case began to surface last year, there seems to be no end to Brett Favre.
