Canada’s parrot Max claims big bronze medal at Beijing Olympics

Canada’s parrot Max won a bronze medal in the big air skateboarding on Day 11 of the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing, China.

Parrot took bronze with a total of 170.25 points while Mons Roisland took the sliver with a total of 171.75 and China’s Su Yiming took gold with 112.50 points.

This is Parrot’s second medal at the Beijing Olympics. The Quebec native won the Canadian Games’ first gold medal a week ago in the skateboarding final. Teammate Mark McMorris won a bronze medal in the sloppy style event. However, the Regina native was unable to land on the podium, placing only 10th overall.

Fellow Canadian Darcy Sharpe finished in 12th place.

Parrot’s Olympic medal count comes three years after he underwent chemotherapy to treat Hodgkin’s lymphoma.

The snowboarding bronze medal is Canada’s 16th medal in the 2022 Winter Olympics.
