Resume regular schedule in May, 2022 Cannes Film Festival is back with its annual celebration of fashion and cinema. The event usually attracts a glamorous crowd of A-list celebrities, who dress up to their ripeness to appear on the red steps. In fact, this year has seen the presence of members of the royal family, namely the nieces of Princess Diana, Lady Amelia Spencer and Lady Eliza Spencer in the Alberta Ferretti ensemble. The duo attended the “Top Gun: Maverick” premiere in textured black capes with pleats and crystals, respectively. After being canceled in 2020 due to the pandemic, the festival is back in its full fashion glory, and the looks are sure to reflect that.
With jury stars like Deepika Padukone, Rebecca Hall, Noomi Rapace and Jasmine Trinca, plus an impressive cast, the two-week festival is an exciting day for film buffs and style enthusiasts alike. Last year, Bella Hadid stole the show in a plunge Schiaparelli . couture gown decorated with a lung-shaped gilded necklace. And we weren’t disappointed with this year’s Versace storied apparel series. To be fair, we should expect a similar burst of adrenaline from this year’s style moments. In reality, Lori Harvey was delivered spectacularly, butter yellow strapless ball gown she was dressed for the opening ceremony. Another highlight was the sparkly, one-shoulder sari Padukone wore on her first day, which featured gold and black sequin stripes. Hall also wowed in a rose-red Gucci gown, custom-made and studded with crystals.
