Capcom is gearing up for Monster Hunter’s 20th anniversary
As is tradition at this time of year, the Japanese publication Famitsu asked well-known developers about their plans and ambitions for 2022, and one of the interviewees was Capcom’s Ryozo Tsujimoto, who is in charge of the business. Monster Hunter Franchising.
Tsujimoto is clearly focused on distribution Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak, the next DLC provides for the most recent entry in the series, but he added that there’s a big anniversary coming up and that he’ll have to spend some time next year preparing for it:
In 2022, I want to first bring Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak, slated for summer, to everyone in solid form. And the Monster Hunter series will celebrate its 20th anniversary in 2024, so I should start preparing for different things soon.
Monster Hunter started appearing on the PlayStation 2 before spreading to other platforms, including the Wii, Wii U, 3DS and – of course – the Switch.
