As an experienced men’s grooming product reviewer, I’ve tried a lot of face sunscreens. I’ve also heard many dermatologists talk about the importance of using sunscreen on your face every day — even when it’s cloudy. While I’ve tested a lot of skin care, grooming, and hair care products, I’m actually a pretty product hater and I’d only start using something long term if I really, Actually like it. Cardon’s SPF 30 Sunscreen Facial Moisturizer for Men
I haven’t started applying sunscreen daily, but knowing that I will be spending a lot of time in the sun, I do my best to apply sunscreen to my face. I want to say that every guy should add face sunscreen into their summer skincare routine. Don’t have a skin care routine? This is a good start, especially for people like me who are worried about wrinkles and other signs of aging.
There are a few men’s sunscreens that I can recommend, but Cardon’s SPF 30 is my current pick. Cardon is a men’s skincare brand inspired by Korean skincare. In the past, I’ve switched between a low SPF face sunscreen and a higher SPF mineral sunscreen. The Mineral sunscreen works wellt when it comes to covering the skin, but these formulas are also harder to apply and leave a white residue. However, Cardon offers SPF30 protection without those nasty properties.
In addition, this product does not double duty as a moisturizer for the sensitive skin on your face. Cardon created this sunscreen using cactus (antioxidant and hydrating), chia seed extract (rich in omega-3s and excellent protection against free radicals in the sun). UV) and turmeric (natural anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial agent). In addition to botanicals, the formula includes SPF 30 broad-spectrum protection.
I used this face sunscreen on weekend excursions, and so far it keeps my face from getting red and puffy after a long day in the sun. Just as importantly, I can personally confirm that this formula is non-greasy and absorbs quickly, two of the most common issues with face sunscreens. And as I noted earlier, it won’t leave that nasty white residue that makes your skin look rough and pale… like Mark Zuckerberg on a surfboard. While on, it will protect from UVA and UVB rays.
My only complaint is the rectangular packaging. I am a lover of sleek product packaging and the modern aesthetic, both offered by Cardon. However, I am not a fan of rectangular and square bottles for skin and hair care products. I had no problem squeezing the formula out and you can always turn it upside down to get every last drop out of the bottle — but still.
