Chanel opens seasonal store in Saint-Tropez with poolside shopping – The Hollywood Reporter
Chanel has a new (temporary) home in Saint-Tropez.
The French Maison has opened a seasonal boutique in the seaside town, tailor-made for tourists and gourmet shoppers in need of a Chanel suit for days on the beach, nights on the town. or a quick trip up the steps of the Palais during Cannes Film Festival.
Chanel’s pop-up store, a Saint-Tropez staple for more than a decade, has once again taken over La Mistralée, a former private mansion and hotel. According to Chanel, the store’s various rooms are designed to evoke “Gabrielle Chanel’s private sphere”, while also merging harmoniously with Chanel’s aesthetic, completed through “the beige tones of the opus floor Roman travertine highlights pink beige walls and brushstrokes of black and white. “
Keeping it real in the family, in the double salon suite, a fawn velvet party is said to have been inspired by the sofa that Gabrielle, aka Coco, Chanel kept in her Parisian cushion house in 31 rue Cambon. Roots run deep in the area, as she is often spotted spending the summer in Saint-Tropez.
About the outfit: Balls and accessories from the Spring-Summer 2022 Ready-to-Wear collection are housed in alcoves built into the wall; a large zellīj table organizes the season’s bags; watches and jewelry arranged in sleek dashboards; and customers can try the shoes on display in the pool house.
Chanel’s pop-up is now open until the end of September.
