Charming Grandma’s Clothes: How To Dress In Style Cheaply

As soon as the TikTok influencer Lex Nicoleta introduce the internet with seaside granny aestheticI know I participated. To understand the interface, imagine you are Diane Keaton in a Nancy Meyers movie, or Martha Stewart Prepare dinner at her house on the beach. The vibes is a completely neutral palette with lots of classic light and glossy fabrics. While the look takes effort, it can also be expensive to achieve. That’s why I challenged myself to create two totally beach granny outfits without spending a lot of money.

Up front, you’ll see that all of my key pieces are under $50. I pair these with shoes and accessories that I already have in my closet, which I also bought for friend. Keep reading to check out my looks and see if the beach granny style is what you want to try for yourself.

Look 1: Cute neutral skirt and cozy cream sweater

Key piece: Here Old Navy Cotton-Poplin Cami Maxi Swing Dress ($36, originally $45) is super comfortable and includes my favorite feature: pockets! It runs a bit large, so I recommend downsizing. I’ve washed it twice now, and it holds up beautifully. Honestly, I think I need it with more colors.

Accessory: I paired my comfortable dress with these Holden Platform Universal Thread Slippers ($30) is great for walking all day. I appreciate that all straps are Velcro adjustable. I also tied this Who What Wear Collection Charlotte Cropped Cardigan ($64, originally $128) over the shoulder – it’s been my go-to layered go all summer; Cropped style looks great with skirts.

Notes on the costume: So specifically, how is this channel’s grandmother? For starters, a neutral color palette is key – you should keep your look with shades of brown, beige and white. The lightweight fabric and shoes make this a great beach outfit and you always want to show off those beachside vibes. The outerwear for beach grannies is a sweater, which is why I completed this look with my cream cardigan.

Figure 2: Gingham shirt and white shorts with a woven cap

Main piece: Here Old Navy Puff-Sleeve Smocked Seersucker Babydoll Swing Blouse ($20, originally $35) was great for me because I have a D cup, but it’s so supportive, I don’t even need a bra. Very impressive quality, nicely designed puff sleeves. I matched the shirt with my favorite pair Old Navy low-rise high waisted jean shorts in white ($24, originally $35), has a five-inch inside. I love the long shorts that are trending this summer.

Accessory: I finished my look with this adorable look Handwoven 100% Raffia Bow family sun hat ($6), has the sweetest surprise in the back – a large woven bow. I also wear to my comfort Birdies Cardinal Sneakers ($145); they are so cushiony, it feels like you are walking on small pillows.

Notes on the costume: If the knitted hat doesn’t immediately bring out the aesthetic beauty of the coastal grandmother, I can’t help you. Diane Keaton is sure to wear this hat for one of her beach walks in a rom-com. Every coastal niece should have white denim in her closet, and these shorts are perfect for summer. My simple white sneakers are perfect for running your lovely little town errands when you hit an old fire (pretend to me).
