Château Westmount staff receive National Assembly Medal of Honour for work during pandemic – Montreal


Liberal MNA Jennifer Maccarone awarded the Nationwide Meeting Medal of Honour to employees at CHSLD Château Westmount on Friday morning. The long-term care house is being acknowledged for reporting no COVID-19 circumstances within the first wave of the pandemic.

“In recognition of your dedication, your dedication…compassion and your caring for our seniors,” Maccarone instructed the CHSLD employees, “it’s an honour for me to current you with this medal.”

Based on the Nationwide Meeting, The Medal of Honour is awarded “to public figures from all walks of life who, by way of their profession, their work or their social dedication, have earned the popularity of the Members of the Nationwide Meeting and the folks of Québec.”

Common Director and Nursing Director Zara Pilian held again tears accepting the award.

“It was a giant shock. It was very emotional, however for me, the employees deserves this recognition,” she stated.

Whereas circumstances climbed in different long-term care houses throughout the province, Château Westmount employees say protecting all 112 residents wholesome was hectic.

“I used to be on my ground alone, and I’m taking good care of 29 folks,” stated nurse Mary Rose Escalante.
