“We’ve had a lot of stories about Christopher Nkunku in the last 24-48 hours. That’s normal; he’s a top player and some big clubs are involved, so what’s really going on? From what I’ve been told, Nkunku has had a medical with Chelsea – it wasn’t a personal medical; the Chelsea staff were there, and it was for Chelsea Football Club ,” wrote Romano.
The Italian added that the Blues still have to reach an agreement with Leipzig.
“This does not mean that it is a completed deal; the medical examination took place a few weeks ago and Chelsea have submitted an offer to the player he is pleased with. But with RB Leipzig, there is still room for improvement. the to-do about a deal,” Romano wrote.
Romano also says the player is pushing for a move to Stamford Bridge.
“I have been informed that Chelsea will attempt to discuss a fee with Leipzig before activating the clause in June 2023; so maybe they will discuss different price tags or payment terms. At the moment, Chelsea are pushing and leading the race, also on the players side,” wrote Romano.
Nkunku has eight goals in 12 games this season.
