ACWORTH, Ga. — A married couple from Chicago had been strolling residence from dinner to their resort when a car struck them, killing the spouse, the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Workplace mentioned. The husband was hospitalized and is in critical situation.
It occurred round 7:42 p.m. Thursday on Freeway 92 close to Northpoint Parkway in Acworth.
A car touring eastbound on Freeway 92 struck the couple, the sheriff’s workplace mentioned. Marie Collins, 73, of Chicago, died on the scene. Ernest Collins, 78, of Chicago, was taken to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital.
Authorities mentioned the couple was not within the crosswalk on the time of the accident and the world was not effectively lit. The motive force stayed on the scene and no expenses have been filed.
