BEIJING (Reuters) – China will droop sugar apple and wax apple imports from Taiwan to forestall illness carried by a pest discovered on the fruits from getting into the nation, its customs workplace stated on Sunday.
The Normal Administration of Customs in China had repeatedly detected pests referred to as “Planococcus minor” in sugar apples, also called sweetsops, and wax apples from Taiwan, it stated in a press release on its web site.
The authority had requested its Guangdong department and all immediately affiliated workplaces to cease customs clearance of these merchandise from Sept. 20, it stated.
