Beijing accuses the group of promoting independence for the island it claims as its own.
China says it is blacklisting seven Taiwanese officials over accusations they support the self-ruled island’s independence.
The group will be barred from entering mainland China and the territories of Hong Kong and Macau, and restricted from working with Chinese officials, state news agency Xinhua said. State news agency Xinhua said, citing a spokesman for the ruling Communist Party’s Taiwan Affairs Office.
The seven officials Beijing has targeted include Bi-khim Hsiao, Taiwan’s representative to the United States.
Xinhua said “sanctions” were needed to “protect the peaceful development of cross-strait relations and the immediate interests of people on both sides of the strait”.
The Communist Party’s Global Times has described them as “hardline separatists”.
Beijing claims Taiwan as its own and does not rule out the use of force to gain control of the territory.
It has increased pressure on the island since visit earlier this month of US House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi, waged war games for days around the island and withdrew cooperation with the United States in several areas, including climate.
Army continue the exercises on Monday, when a group of US lawmakers visit Taipei and are scheduled to meet with Taiwanese President Tsai Ing-wen.
While maintaining diplomatic relations with Beijing, the United States is Taiwan’s biggest supporter and is bound by law to provide the island with the means to defend itself.
