Cynthia Nixon is speaking out after Chris Noth was dropped from the end of HBO Max’s And just like that reboot after sexual assault allegations against the actor were first posted on The Hollywood Reporter in December.
In an interview with Tonight’s reception announced Thursday, Nixon briefly shared his thoughts on the removal. “I think we were very fortunate that those changes were able to be made,” Nixon said. “And I think we’re very proud of our show.”
Although the character Mr. Big of Noth died in the first episode of the series, the show’s writers planned to have the character have a cameo in the finale. However, the footage was later cut amid the alleged scene.
After that And just like that debut, two women – who used a pseudonym for the story and didn’t know each other – approached CHEAP months apart and it is alleged that the actor sexually assaulted them. The women decided to move on after being activated by the actor who starred in Sex and the city revival.
In a statement for CHEAP, Noth denied the allegations and called them “clearly false”, also saying that the two incidents were consensual.
Another woman then arrived Daily Monster and accused Noth of assaulting her in 2010. Country singer Lisa Gentile, meanwhile, alleges Noth sexually assaulted her in 2002 in a New York City apartment.
Noth was eventually removed by his agents at A3 Artists Agency and from a regular role on his series on CBS’ Equalizer. His viral Peloton ad created with Ryan Reynolds was also quickly picked up by the fitness company.
Following the allegations, Heather Kristin, a former representative for Sex and the city star Kristin Davis, reviewed the essay that went viral in February 2021 for The Independent titled, “I am the head of Charlotte in Sex and the City. Some of the behavior that I see still shocks me,” and revealed that Noth exhibited “malicious behavior” on set. She also claimed that Noth was an “alpha actor” who made a derogatory comment about a fellow coworker.
A representative for Noth said CHEAP, “Now that everyone is flocking to Chris Noth, it’s without a doubt a convenient time to pull him into her ‘recollection’ of the events. Chris denies these allegations and has never had a single complaint or report of him acting inappropriately on set. Sex and the city. ”
Nixon, along with stars Sarah Jessica Parker and Davis have since issued a joint statement in which they offered to support women moving forward.
