Chris Paul will be back on Thursday against the Nuggets

Phoenix Suns Future Hall of Famer and star point guard Chris Paul has missed the past 15 games after he broken thumb against the Houston Rockets on February 16.

At least initially, it looks like Paul will miss the rest of the regular season for the defending conference champions. That is not the case. Shams Charania by The Athletic reports that Paul will return to action for Phoenix on Thursday night against conference rival Denver Nuggets.

Surprisingly, The Suns were able to win 11 of the 15 games that Paul missed due to injury. They now sit 59-14 in the season and are a key to earning the top seed at the Western Conference.

With that said, getting Paul back in the last few games of the regular season will be a big deal for NBA title buffs.

Aside from his still excellent overall play, 36-year-old Paul has simply proven himself a winner since joining the Suns a season ago. Phoenix boasts a 95-30 record when Paul wears the outfit during that period.

As of now, Phoenix has nine games against the Memphis Grizzlies for the number one seed in the conference with nine games remaining. You can do math. A win on Thursday night with Paul’s return would ensure a 60-win season and West’s No 1 seed.

The Suns will certainly be tested during the final nine games of the regular season with Paul back in action.

In addition to Thursday’s game against the Nuggets, they also have games against the Philadelphia 76ers, Golden State Warriors, Memphis Grizzlies and Utah Jazz.
