Chris Paul’s mother and wife assaulted by Dallas Mavericks fan during fourth game
While Mother’s Day should be a joyous occasion, for NBA basketball player Chris Paul it was a surprise. According to ESPN, during the fourth game of the Western Conference semi-final against the Dallas Mavericks, his wife and mother Jada were harassed and assaulted by a Mavericks fan. The source said a fan shoved Jada, and Chris’ mother, Robin McMenamin, was also attacked.
Additionally, Jada was watched in the aisle as she left her seat. Worse still, she and Chris’ children are said to have witnessed the harassment, leaving his family feeling “very unsafe”. Phoenix Sun’s point guard is saddened by the incident and has done his best to protect his family. As the young fan was escorted out of the arena, Chris tried to approach him and say, “I’ll see you later.”
Chris doesn’t stop there. He also indirectly addressed the situation on Twitter, writing, “Want the players to be great for saying things to the fans, but the fans can lay their hands on our family… .f ** k there!!”
Immediately after the incident happened, many people praised the action of this fan, including the Mavericks organization. They released a statement stating, “It is unacceptable behavior and will not be tolerated. The Mavericks, along with American Airlines Center, were quick to remove fans from today’s game.” Rapper BRS Kash walked into The Shade Room and commented on the assault, saying: “I’ll have to take that good friend away and can’t find it anywhere later! At this point, it’s not clear whether Chris will press charges against the fans. Roommates, we’ll keep you informed of any new developments!
