Clippers are running out of time
Before the season, many believed the Clippers would eventually make it to the NBA Finals. The team’s third-year head coach felt the team was competent, therefore welcoming high expectations back in October.
Title hopes are slipping out of reach for Los Angeles. Similar to last season, Clippers are not healthy and star strikers are rare Kawhi Leonard and George in the lineup, let alone together. During rehabilitation, minor injuries, and load management, Leonard missed 24 game of the year, and George missed 15.
The Los Angeles coach and recent roster additions haven’t worked either. Lue repeatedly awarded the wrong number of minutes to unsuitable players, leaving capable players like wingers Terance Mann and Robert Covington regularly left out of the rotation. In turn, defenders like John Wall have struggled to perform, earning commercial buzz ahead of the February 9 deadline.
