Few leads are more touted than in our once-and-done eraen’s College Basketball than John Wall. Born and raised in Raleigh, NC, it makes sense for him to want to attend University North Carolina. However, Wall alleges that a meeting with 2008-09 National Player of the Year – Tyler Hansbrough – made him change his mind.

Wall appeared on the Dallas Mavericks guard Theo Pinson’s podcast — Run your race. He discussed trading from Washington Wizards, which is was cut from his high school basketball team, and of course, his time in Kentucky. The period that he claims would never have happened if Hansbrough had treated him better during his visit to Chapel Hill.

“Tyler Hansbrough has his own part, him and the boys at his house,” Wall said on the podcast. “I am a rookie. I walked over and said, ‘what’s the matter.’ He said ‘I don’t talk to rookies.’”

How did Hansbrough react?

Since then, Hansbrough has jumped on Twitter to not only deny that he ever looked down on Wall, but that he apparently holds the same views he had about John Calipari when the Wildcats head coach took the credit. this in 2009. An opinion he made recklessly, in the same way that a person with eyes might say the same things recklessly about the show he was in. and all the other great shows throughout the history of time.

“I’m sure Calipari Bank has nothing to do with his arrival in Kentucky,” Hansbrough tweeted.

He’s better off denying what happened because the season after he, Ty Lawson, and a fully loaded North Carolina team annihilated all the arrivals en route to a second National Championship. For five seasons, Tar Heels’ title defense produced weak results.

What a North Carolina team it could have been

The main players of that 2008-09 championship announced their participation in the NBA Draft and Tar Heels finished 5-11 in a game against ACC the following season. If Wall had fed Tyler Zeller, John Henson and Ed Davis the ball, that record would have certainly been different.

Whenever Hansbrough returns to Chapel Hill, he needs to shout from the highest places on campus that he didn’t look down on a rookie who was a YouTube star before setting foot there. university campus with that 2009 sensational mixtape.

Possibly because college students in North Carolina misnamed “The Dougie,” “The John Wall.” They could all have performed the dance – no seasoning – across campus and the beaches during Spring Break when UNC finally equaled rival Duke’s record of consecutive National Championships.

Instead, one of the greatest players North Carolina ever produced became Coach Cal’s first whale in Kentucky.

We need to find a way to bring this case to trial before the court of public opinion. Turn it into the battle of Verzuz, where the witnesses present that night testified about what happened.

We deserve an answer, because this is a great sliding door moment.
