Clippers protect indefinitely with broken bone in left foot
As everyone gears up for Super Bowl 2022 early Sunday (February 13), the LA Clippers provided an important update on their guard/forward Norman Powell.
The team bought Powell about 10 days earlier in a transaction from the Portland Trail Blazers.
That said, here’s everything we know about Powell’s injury situation:

What is Norman Powell’s wound?
According to the team’s announcement, the 6-foot-3 keeper suffered a “medial sesamoid fracture in his left foot”.

This injury is most likely what kept him out of the Clippers’ second game in Dallas on Saturday (February 12).
How long will Norman Powell be disqualified?
As announced by the team’s release, there is no timetable for Powell’s return and therefore he could very well be sidelined indefinitely.
LA bought him along with Robert Covington from Portland in exchange for Eric Bledsoe, Justise Winslow, Keon Johnson and a second round slot in 2025.
The Clippers are Powell’s third NBA team in the short span of a year, having moved from the Toronto Raptors to the Trail Blazers last March in exchange for Gary Trent Jr. and Rodney Hood.
Clippers’ upcoming fixtures from 2021 to 22
After Super Bowl Sunday, the Clippers had three games before the All-Star break.
Soon after, they played the next four games on the road, including two in a row at Houston.
