College Football Polls: AP Top 25 Update, Coaches Poll Post Week 12 Update
The chaos of college football returned with a vengeance in Week 12 of the season, which saw two first-team losers, the top 10 not vying for a spot in the College Football Knockout Qualifiers. .
One of those losses was expected, though perhaps not in the way it was. Ohio State No. 4 completely defeated No. 7 Michigan State, lifting Sparta 56-7 after jumping out of a 49-0 lead at halftime absurd. The other top 10 team to lose was Oregon, who were similarly eliminated in a 38-7 loss to 23rd-placed Utah. (The Utes took the lead 28-0 after halftime by Last second punt profit for touchdown).

Those losses and more will affect the AP Top 25 rankings and the latest Coach poll. Another game to consider is 2 Alabama’s 42-35 win over 21 Arkansas, a match that didn’t feel particularly close but that somehow ended with a one-ownership margin. Will that score, coupled with Ohio State’s dominance, make voters put Buckeyes before Crimson Tide? If nothing else, the battle between those teams on the Heisman Trophy – the quarterback CJ Stroud and Bryce Young are the obvious forwards at this point in the season – will also be worth a look.
With that, Sporting News will take a look at the latest top 25 rankings following the Week 12 action:
