Bandai Namco’s long-awaited remaster pack arrives Klonoa: The Door to Phantomile and Klonoa 2: Lunatea’s Veil imminent and in anticipation of the return of the lovable dream traveler, the company has released the opening cutscenes for both games in Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series collect.
This is the first time that the games have been re-released together, and also the first time that Lunatea’s Veil has even been re-released (after the first game was released). Wii remake in 2009).
Door to Phantomile is the first Klonoa game, and watch Klonoa team up with a ring god named Huepow. Together, they travel the world of Phantomile, a land that exists thanks to the dreams people have. The prologue sees Klonoa meeting his new best friend and pulling his primary weapon – a magic ring – out of the ground, Excalibur style.
We’ve covered it before, but this re-release uses an art style much closer to the original PlayStation game, with Klonoa’s shorter and sleeker look retained.
The sequel, Lunatea’s Veil, occurs sometime after Klonoa’s adventures in Phantomile – and is even set after the GBA title. Empire of Dreams. Now, in a new world, Klonoa must save the land of Lunatea after being approached in a dream by a mysterious voice.
Lunatea’s Veil was only released on PS2 prior to this collection. It retains the 2.5D style the first game was known for, and introduces a whole new cast of characters and brand new outfits for our cute little anima friend.
