Community gathers in memory of DeKalb County father who was shot dead

DECATUR, Ga. (CBS46) – The tractor-trailer truck after it plowed down Columbia Drive in DeKalb County, passing the gas station where Chris Harrold was killed.

Harrold worked as a rickshaw driver before he was shot dead on Tuesday.

“He’s loving, he’s fun, he’s the best dad I’ve ever met,” said his wife Mya Harrold.

On Saturday night, Harrold’s family, friends and colleagues gathered in his honor.

His family told CBS46 that they are grateful for the support.

“I’m so glad everyone came out to support Chris,” Harrold said. “I’m happy, I’m glad they’re out.”

According to the family, Chris was killed while training a man. They say the two stopped at a gas station and Chris stayed in the truck while his intern got out and got in.

According to the family, the trainee got into a fight with someone. When the intern returned to the truck, the suspect, 25-year-old Victor Richardson, shot it, according to police.

Harrold was killed. His loved ones told CBS46 that the father will not be forgotten.

“I’m so proud of him, I’m so proud of all the people who were born for my brother,” Harrold’s brother said.

Richardson is being charged with murder, according to DeKalb County Police.
