Could the Mets ace Jacob deGrom return at the end of June?

Last weekNew York Mets general manager Billy Eppler told reporters the club “will not set a timeline” regarding the potential return of ace Jacob deGrom, who has missed the entire season. 2022 so far with a stress response in his pitching shoulder blade.

While Mets announced Last Tuesday that a follow-up MRI and CT scan “showed that the wound was still healing”, at the time it was still thought that deGrom would not launch his campaign before the May All-Star holiday. Seven. However, Scott Polacek of Bleacher Report notes that MLB insider Jon Heyman said in the latest edition of the “The Show” podcast that the two-time National League Cy Young Award winner could return before Independence Day.

“Someone at the Mets told me at the end of June. To me, that sounds optimistic,” Heyman explained of deGrom’s condition. “I’m looking at July.”

It makes sense that the Mets would like to see deGrom back in action at some point in the last week of June. Amazins confirmed Last week, three-time Cy Young Award winner Max Scherzer was expected to miss six to eight weeks due to an oblique muscle strain, and right arm Tylor Megill joined in. injured list since May 12 due to tendonitis in the biceps in his pitching arm.
