Country star Reba McEntire has to be rescued after stairs collapse in historic Oklahoma building

Nation star Reba McEntire expressed gratitude Wednesday after she needed to be rescued from a historic constructing in Atoka, Oklahoma, after the staircase collapsed.

McEntire needed to be evacuated on a hearth ladder from a second-story window on Tuesday, CNN affiliate KXII reported.

“Fortunately, nobody was significantly injured,” she wrote on Twitter. “We have been safely evacuated from the constructing due to the fast response from the Atoka fireplace and police departments.”

The Emergency Administration Director for Atoka, Travis Mullins, informed KXII that the stairwell from the second to the third story collapsed, falling onto the staircase from the primary to the second flooring and trapping folks inside.

“Oh it was fairly scary, I used to be nervous about who was downstairs and the way unhealthy it was,” Coby Scherrill informed KXII. He was touring the constructing with McEntire on the time, the station reported.

“We have been simply touring the constructing and the stairwell was weak, it appeared weak however we didn’t notice how weak it was till a number of folks had gone down it after which we heard the crash and noticed the steps fall,” he informed KXII.

Atoka, a metropolis of about 3,000 folks, is positioned within the southeastern a part of the state, and is about 45 miles from McEntire’s dwelling city of McAlester.
