Quebec is reporting 1,037 new COVID-19 cases on Friday, the highest number in a single day in six months, as infection rates in the province continue to rise.
Health authorities also say no deaths related to the new virus have been reported.

The last time Quebec saw a daily case count above 1,000 was on May 2.
On that day, there were 1,006 cases. On May 1, there were 1,101 cases.
