Lee Price III, 30, was sentenced to 110 months in prison on Monday. Price pleaded guilty in September to committing fraud and money laundering.

“Mr Price hopes that others will learn from his thinking that there is no easy money,” Price’s attorney Tom Berg said in an email to the news agency. “He has a 110-month sentence left over to reflect, repent and redo his erroneous life.”

Prosecutors allege Price fraudulently used more than $1.6 million in funding from the Paycheck Protection Program, a low-interest loan program for small businesses struggling during the pandemic. .

According to prosecutors, Price also used the money to buy an $85,000 pickup truck and pay off a home loan.
