COVID death insurance premium in Europe tops 2 million


In Europe, the number of confirmed COVID-19 deaths has exceeded two million, the World Health Organization (WHO) Regional Office said.

The office said in a statement: “While this number is frightening, it represents a fraction of the total number of deaths directly and indirectly related to Covid-19, as reported by the WHO on excessive mortality during the pandemic has shown”.

‘The cumulative number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in the region has surpassed 218 million, and 2,003,081 deaths have been reported.’

It notes that although the number of new infections is declining in the region, Covid-19 remains a deadly virus, especially for the unvaccinated and clinically vulnerable people. .

WHO Europe calls on the public to take immediate and lasting action on multiple fronts.

“These include protecting the most vulnerable, continuing to monitor the virus and its spread, keeping health systems ready for any pandemic developments, and addressing its long-term effects,” it said.
