After Dallas’ loss, Prescott said ‘credits them’ in response to fans throwing trash at NFL officials leaving the field.
“The fans feel the same way as we do,” Prescott added. “I guess that’s why the refs took off and got out of there so quickly. I think everyone’s annoyed with the way this thing is going.”
After reflection and public backlash, Prescott apologized.
I deeply regret the comments I made about the officials after Sunday’s game.
I was swept up in the emotion of a disappointing loss and my words were unfair and unfair.

Precott’s comments were widely criticized in the NFL community. It even spilled over into the NBA community, prompting the NBA Referees Association to stand up for the NFL Referee Association.
“NBRA condemns Dak Prescott’s comments tolerating violent behavior towards game officials,” The association said via Twitter on Tuesday. “As an NFL leader, he should have known better. We encourage the NFL to take action to prevent this reprehensible behavior in the future.”
