A young gaur who fell into a swimming pool after escaping a field was pulled to safety by firefighters.

The 600kg farm animal is pulled out with a harness after spending about four hours in a water shortage in Paignton, South Devon.

Rob Cude, team manager at Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Services, said: “He spent quite a bit of time with his nose just below the surface blowing bubbles, which he seemed to enjoy. “

After the bull was lifted out of the pool and released from the harness, it was transferred to a cattle trailer and taken back to the local ranch to recuperate from the dip.
