So when Lincoln launched the “Coastal Mornings” scent with Serena Williams at Art Basel and shared a reimagined interior sanctuary with Rejuvenating Mood, it caught our attention!
Lincoln celebrated his centenary at Art Week in Miami to celebrate Lincoln’s never-ending quest “peace, smoothness and “Power of the Sanctuary”.”
The mystery part? (We love a good teaser!) Future, luxury, and calming? Oh, now we’re listening.

If there was anything that could make a 2 hour drive in traffic, to go 30 miles, smoother? We need to know all the details, and of course, share them with you!
The Power of Sanctuary at Lincoln Art Basel Activate
Before the activation process even started, Lincoln invited several Art Basel influencers, leaving them completely oblivious to the reveal of this secret sanctuary!
Ambassadors received an invitation and perfume bottle in the mail and were asked to show up in Miami ready for a big announcement! There was no call to Lincoln, just a bottle, an invitation, and a mysterious hint that Serena Williams would somehow be involved.
Mysterious and suspenseful right?
When influencers arrived at the SLS hotel, they were surprised to learn that it was part of Lincoln’s year-round commitment to “The Power of the Sanctuary”. Lincoln announced that the invitation and bottle of perfume, received just a few days earlier, was in fact one of the car’s Sensory Rejuvenation services – but a service that can only be experienced PARTY IN the Lincoln car.
But the activation doesn’t stop there…
At the intersection of scent and sanctuary
Lincoln organized “The intersection of scents & mecca” with tennis icon and Lincoln brand ambassador Serena Williams to speak on “the future of sanctuary and the importance of scent.” Joining her are Estee Lauder’s Creative Director of Hospitality Design & Services, Gabriele Chiave, and Lincoln Interior Design Director, Ryan Niemia.
This is kind of ingenious, isn’t it? For people who are returning to work and they require a lot of travel, being able to take care of themselves and relax in their car is quite smart.
“Sanctuary is a place where you can relax, unwind and get away from all the stress and worries of the world. The scent for me evokes coolness and calm, the sea at dawn, it’s really beautiful and pleasant and refreshing.” – Claire’s FashionBomDaily
Some of us have used car fresheners, but what if we could really imagine a spa-like experience inside our cars? From scents to massages, to lighting, to blow away our senses and stress? How many of you have found yourself zoning out in your car for 30 minutes before entering the house? What if that time could be used intentionally, for relaxation, contact, and release?!
After the dashboard, Lincoln announced an installation featuring the Lincoln Star™ Concept. Revealed earlier this year, the concept hints at the brand’s design for future electric vehicles. Lincoln Star™ Concept also calls for an interior sanctuary reimagined with a Rejuvenating Mood, a “harmonious sensory experiences that include massage, motion graphics, sound, and even scent.”
Have you caught that yet? A car with a scent, chairs that massage you, specific sounds that bring you to relaxation, etc.? This is what this Rejuvenating Mood is all about!
The power of Sanctuary in your car with a rejuvenating mood
Lincoln’s rejuvenating mood scent is a unique and brand-specific experience that leaves drivers feeling inspired and comfortable. We’re here for anything that can help us feel comfortable, especially when we’re dealing with the stress of traffic on the road.
The installation reveals that the scent Serena teases on her channels is in fact “Coastal Mornings!” Coastal Mornings are one of the three Rejuvenating Moods in the Lincoln Star™ Concept and use “The soothing sounds of the ocean, the scent of sea dew and the soft, warm light of the sun with dynamic lighting throughout the cabin to recreate a walk on the beach at sunrise.”
Can you envision this kind of experience?
Jenee’s HighLowLuxxe share that “The scent inspires my mood for the day, how I feel during the day. The Morning Coast scent gives me a sense of calm, but you also have some warm notes in it – a bit of both. Lots of calm but warm and prepared for the day.
Create a third space of comfort, relaxation and serenity- a New kind of Sanctuary- is what Lincoln intended and then. Indulging in these three rejuvenating moods can provide a true sanctuary INSIDE your car:
