Criminal investigation is underway at the University of New Haven | Connecticut News


WFSB- A criminal investigation is underway at the University of New Haven following a robbery that took place early this morning.

According to Sheriff Adam Brown of the University of New Haven, around 12:20 a.m. this morning, a car pulled into the main campus of the school. The car stopped near the C store when a man stepped out of the passenger’s back row and approached two students who were walking on campus.

The man robbed one of the students with a gun, stole a wallet and then left in the same car with Brown.

The man is described as a dark-skinned male, about 5’8″ in average build, wearing dark clothing and a black ski mask. Police described him as between 18 and 20 years old.

New Haven Police College and West Haven Police responded to the scene immediately.

Police say that a criminal investigation is currently underway by the West Haven Police Department Detective Team.

The University of New Haven Police Department said it is increasing security patrols in and around the University.

Officials are asking members of the public to remain vigilant.
